MSLOL Radio 9-An Alternative Approach

On Wednesday, June 8th we will hear from three individuals who have a story to share about their alternative approaches in dealing with MS. (See below for "how to"!)

Rachelle Breslow

Rachelle Breslow was diagnosed with MS in 1968 and didn't accept the neurologist's responses to her questions about living with the disease. Told that nutrition and exercise would make no difference, she trusted her own instincts and found healing through dietary changes and a new understanding of the body/mind connection. Her book, Who Said So is a fascinating account of her 4 decade experience managing her version of MS. With her son David's help, the publication has been updated and an effort is underway to get this inspiring story to those who need just that... Inspiration.

David Breslow, teaches life altering insights to change the way people live, work and play. As a renowned speaker, coach and author, David intimately understands the power of the mind/body/emotion connection to help people make real change happen. Like mother, like son...

Rachelle's Book "Who Said So- A woman's journey of self-discovery and complete recovery from Multiple Sclerosis" originally written in 1991 will soon be released with a new chapter. Sign up at David's site to be placed on the list that will keep you posted on its release~

Judi Lecoq

Judi Lecoq was diagnosed with MS in 1997, but recognizes that it has been her “little companion” for decades prior.  After living with the disease and its myriad of symptoms she decided to take a chance on a stem cell transplant procedure. She'll tell her story of repair and renewal and how she happily lives without the symptoms that she had expected would be her life-long "companions".

Judi lives in Arlington, Texas, with her husband, Chef Philippe Lecoq and her two children, Michel-26 and Jessica-24, who are not children anymore!

Malcolm West

Malcolm West was diagnosed in 1991 and spent 17 years on every disease modifying drug (DMD) available. After an unsuccessful chemotherapy regimen he was no longer interested in his doctor's recommendations. When he lost his health insurance (and any means to pay for these expensive treatments) he turned his attention to Low Dose Naltrexone... and everything changed.

Since then, Malcolm has devoted his time and greatly improved energy (as co-founder and editor) to LDNaware.org. This volunteer group is devoted to spreading knowledge and raising awareness about LDN as a treatment for autoimmune disease, cancer and HIV/AIDS.

Malcolm lives with his wife and two children in Devon, PA.

Julia Schopick's book "Honest Medicine: Effective, Time-Tested, Inexpensive Treatments for Life Threatening Diseases" includes a section on Low Dose Naltrexone and Malcolm West's account of his experience with the treatment.

Episode 8: the MS Muse

Muse are goddesses of Greek Mythology who inspire the creation of literature and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge, related orally for centuries in the ancient culture, that was contained in poetic lyrics and myths. The compliment to a real woman who inspires creative endeavor is a later idea.

Join us on Monday, May 9th (8pm EST) when you will meet 4 women who are writers living with MS. Hear their stories, and the stories that are theirs! (click on their links!)
